A Muslim man, Mohammed Rasheed Khan, was assaulted and beaten </a>by three men late Wednesday night after leaving prayers at the Center for Islamic Studies in Jamaica, Queens. According to CAIR-NY director Afaf Nasher, Khan got on his bike to go home when three men reportedly punched him in the head and face. From the assault, Khan suffered five broken bones in his face as well as a concussion and fractured ribs. The suspects did not steal any of Khan's belongings and were reported laughing as they left the scene of the attack. Because no items were stolen and Khan was wearing religious attire, investigators are looking into the case as a hate crime.
